Lisa is the mother of a ten-year-old daughter with multiple disabilities and a neuro-typical seven-year-old daughter. Lisa is an active member of the disability advocacy community in New Mexico. She is a graduate of New Mexico Partners in Policymaking, completed the New Mexico Leadership in Neurodevelopment and related disabilities (NM LEND) fellowship in 2012, and has occupied advisory positions on the ARC of New Mexico Executive Board, Carrie Tingley Hospital Executive Board, The University of New Mexico Patient- and Family-Centered Care Advisory Board and the Patient Centered Outcomes Institute’s (PCORI) Advisory Panel on Improving Healthcare Systems. She was published in the October 9, 2013 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) related to medical education accessibility for individuals with learning disabilities. She received a Bachelor of University Studies, cum laude, from the University of New Mexico in 2001 and a Master of Arts: Communication in 2013 from the University of New Mexico.
